Took me a while but I FINALLY got it right

My wife Amy and I celebrated our 2-year anniversary last week and over the weekend we got all nostalgic and talked about how much our lives have changed since we got married.

One thing she was quick to point out is that I’m a heck of a lot more fun to be around now.

Ha, I’ve always loved how direct she is.

But she was right…

You see, at the beginning of last year, January 2014 to be exact, I was having a hard time and I’d been spiraling downward for a while.

I was super stressed out, frustrated, overwhelmed…

All of which were strains on my relationship with Amy.

Not exactly a great way to start out a marriage, eh?

I was struggling so much because after 14 months of trying to create a sustainable business for myself, I couldn’t quite make it work.

I’d left the corporate world at the end of 2012 “to be an entrepreneur” and have my own business.

But a little over a year later I didn’t have much to show for my entrepreneurial efforts.

Truth be told, I had no idea how to make it all work.

I wanted a “real” business for myself (and Amy).

Something where I was making consistent money each month (my goal at the time was $5K / month).

But I didn’t have an idea, or a product to sell, or much of an email list.

Yes, I was good at Facebook ads but the odd coaching session and managing a few people’s ad campaigns was the extent of my business.

I’d really just been spinning my wheels.

The Decision That Changed Everything

Since it was the new year, I decided I would try some drastic changes, finally heeding the advice of some friends.

I invested A LOT of money to hire a coach to help me put it all together and start growing a business.

Someone who’d “been there” before and was doing what I wanted to be doing.

Greatest. Decision. Ever.

Within the first 45 days of working with him, I started figuring it out and things began clicking.

I started to create an actual business — with an idea and a product and growing my email list.

For the first time since leaving my corporate gig, I was making real money as an entrepreneur — my first $30,000 to be exact.

That’s right, within the first 45 days of January – February 2014, I brought in $30K.

I was on top of the world.

After banging my head against the wall for over a year momentum was finally on my side.

As I look back on that time now, the steps I took last January to actually make that money were really quite simple.

They were right in front of me the whole time but I just needed a coach, a different perspective, to break things down into simple steps for me.

And then I was off to the races…

I want to share with you the steps I took to create that first $30K in 45 days for my business after starting from nothing, but this email is getting a bit lengthy.

So, tomorrow be on the lookout for an email where I’ll share with you the steps I took.

One of My Favorites…

Oh and speaking of breaking things down into steps, here’s what I want you to do now…

This is one my favorite Tony Robbins videos called 5 Steps to Take Control of Your Life Now.

In the video, Tony breaks down his keys to accomplishing what you want in life into easy-to-follow steps.

I have these steps bookmarked to go back and reference whenever I’m in need of some inspiration.

Take a few minutes and check out the video, you’ll be glad you did…

Talk soon,

Rick Mulready
