Facebook’s rolling out new ads – What does it mean for you?

As you may (or not) have heard, there have been rumors for some time now that Facebook will be making some announcements next week on 2/29.

These rumors include a rollout of the Timeline for brand pages as well as new “premium” ad units.

Some of these rumors became a bit more real this week when documents outlining the new “premium” ad units were leaked.

No need to be alarmed, though.

These new ad units are for brands who are working directly with Facebook.

So, for the majority of us, it will be business as usual in that we’ll be able to continue creating the same types of ads that we’re used to through the self-service Ads Manager.

Here’s What I Know So Far

It appears there will be new six Facebook premium ad units.

These will include:

– Status updates

– Photos

– Videos

– Links

– Questions

– Events

It looks like you will be able to create these ads from any content you post on your Page.  

And, people seeing the ads will be able to comment right within the ad.

Pretty cool!
