I recently did something I’ve never done before.
I planned out the upcoming year in my business. Not just the first quarter, but the whole year.
That’s right, I scheduled every month of 2015 on a big ‘ol dry-erase wall calendar.
Here’s a picture of it:
All my launches, events, podcast work and time off are scheduled
Well, last year was the best year in my business that I’ve ever had.
I helped more people create freedom in their business through Facebook advertising than I ever have before. I blew past my revenue goal of hitting six-figures. I had more fun and I strengthened relationships with some of my now closest friends.
Naturally, I want to use the momentum I’ve gained and build on this success in a big way.
In order to do that, I’ve realized I need to be even more organized, focused and carefully plan how I’ll be spending my time this year.
I gotta say, as intimidated as I was, the whole exercise has been awesomely liberating. I love knowing that I have a clear plan for this year.
Two Actions that Clearly Impacted My Revenue the Most
I actually wanted to create a plan like this last year but had no clue where to start.
If you’ve never done this before, you gotta do it. I can’t recommend it enough. It will flat out transform how you look at your business.
One of the most fun parts of this whole planning exercise, for me anyway, was looking back on the past year and seeing what worked and what didn’t.
As I reflected on this, I could CLEARLY see that there were two strategies in particular that worked best for me:
#1. I hired a business coach.
I haven’t talked about this a whole lot but James Wedmore was and still is one of the biggest reasons my business has grown so quickly this past year. At the end of 2013 my business was a hobby. Now, with James’ strategic guidance, I’ve created a six-figure business and, looking to triple it this year.
If you don’t already have a coach, mentor, or whatever you want to call it, I can’t recommend getting one highly enough.
If you want to fast-track your business in 2015, find someone who has been successful in what you’re trying to do, aligns with your goals and personality, and start working with them ASAP.
#2. I created two online courses.
When I first met with James in December of 2013, one of the first questions he asked me was about how I was monetizing my Facebook ads knowledge. What products am I selling to help people create freedom in their business through Facebook advertising? My answer was…zero.
I was coaching and consulting but I didn’t have any training courses. Even though I absolutely love teaching others, I had no idea where to begin with that stuff.
As I look back on it now it’s clear I was missing a huge opportunity in my business. Facebook ads + training courses = huge revenue potential. HUGE.
So, that’s where we started. We mapped out a strategy for my first online training course that I called The FB ADvantage: Automated Facebook Ads Made Simple. It’s a course that helps the more higher-level beginner/intermediate Facebook ads person take their or their client’s business to the next level.
Creating a course like this allowed me to help more people WHILE creating consistent income and building authority.
James also suggested I check out David Siteman Garland’s work on creating and selling online courses. I’d known David from his podcast The Rise to the Top and for the past several years he’s also been teaching and perfecting how to create and sell online courses.
The dude knows his stuff. Between what I learned from David’s content and James’ mentorship, I was on my way.
$30,000 In My First 2 Months
I started work on The FB ADvantage in January of 2014 and by the first week of February, through Facebook ads and webinars, I’d made $30,000.
Then, while continuing to grow FB ADvantage, I also created a course to help beginners grow their business or create income on the side with Facebook ads.
So in June of last year I launched a course aptly named FB Ads for Newbies: Killer Facebook Ads On Less Than $10 A Day. It, too, has been a massive success.
Not only has it brought in significant revenue but it’s also been a great lead generator for my business.
How To Create Your Own Online Course…Or Better Sell Your Existing One(s)
If you want to quickly make money in your business, there’s a simple formula (hint: I let the cat out of the bag above)…
Facebook ads + an online course = unlimited revenue potential.
It’s this exact formula that allowed me to blow through my goal of creating a six-figure business in 2014.
And you know what? You can have the best year in your business in 2015 using this formula.
That’s what I want for you.
Whether you already have an online course and want to sell more, you have an idea for one but aren’t sure where to start, or you’re simply looking for ways to make more money, I want to help.
That’s why I’ve invited the above-mentioned Jedi Master of online courses, David Siteman Garland, to do a LIVE webinar with me for you on Wednesday, March 25th at 9 AM PST/12p EST.
During the training, David will be sharing with you:
– His exact proven 7-step process to create, promote and profit from online courses (even if you’ve never sold anything to your audience before).
– The ONLY question you need to ask your audience to have them tell you exactly what they want in your course.
– The secret to pricing your course so you get the very best customers & generate the most revenue (this part alone literally changed David’s business)
– The biggest marketing/promotion mistake you can make that will kill your sales…and what to do instead.
And lots more.
