The Steps I Used To Make $30K in 45 Days

In that last email, I shared the step-by-step process I used to finally gain some momentum in my business — in the form of being able to generate $30K in 45 days.

And it was the hiring of a coach who helped me break things into “doable” pieces that really kicked things into high gear.

Hiring him was the best decision I’ve ever made in my business, hands-down.

But it wasn’t without its fears.

Half-way through 2013 I began asking some “online” people I respected who they thought could be a good coach for me.

And the same name kept coming up time and again…

…James Wedmore.

I didn’t really know him personally but I definitely knew of him.

After being introduced through a mutual friend, I asked him if he’d consider taking me on as a coaching client.

He wasn’t coaching anyone at the time, as far as I knew, so I didn’t really know what to expect.

I also had ZERO idea how much it would cost if he said yes.

Well, he said no… (politely, of course).

He said he wasn’t interested in coaching anyone at the time.

And, that seemed to be it.  I’d have to find someone else.

It didn’t sit well with me, though.

I was convinced he was the right coach for me and since I don’t give up easily (just ask my wife about how we met), I followed up with him about a month later to see if he’d changed his mind.

Annnnddd, he hadn’t.

A month later, I asked again. No go.

It took me six months to get him to say yes (win!).

When he finally agreed, he said… OK, if we’re gonna do this, this is how it’s going to look and this is how much it’s going to cost.


Maybe I was blinded by my persistence in wanting him to coach me, but I definitely wasn’t ready for how much it was going to cost.

I mean, I didn’t even have an idea, a product to sell or an email list to speak of.

So if I went ahead and hired him, how was I going to make my investment back?

Reality set in and suddenly I was scared to death that I was making a poor decision.

I didn’t even have a business yet for crying out loud.

How would I explain paying that amount of money to my wife when I didn’t have cash coming in?

I weighed my options and it was either keep spinning my wheels going nowhere, not building the business I left my cushy corporate job for…

…or take a leap of faith and put my faith in a coach who already had the type of business I wanted.

 A guy who was living the type of lifestyle I craved.

You know by now what I decided to do…

I hired James to be my coach.

I did what I now realize is one key to being a successful entrepreneur…

…I moved even when I was scared to.

My hand shook as I wrote the biggest check I’d ever written.

And it turned out to be THE. BEST. DECISION. EVER.

The first thing we did together was create a step-by-step plan to get my business going.

We started the first of January 2014 and as you know by now, the result was $30K by the middle of the next month.
